How to Go Viral on Instagram: Increase Your Reel Views

Going viral on Instagram is not an easy task. It requires hard work, dedication, and creativity to get your reels views up. If you're looking for some tips on how to go viral on Instagram then keep reading! This post will give you 4 key tips that will help increase your reel views and make it easier to go viral online.

First: What does it mean to go viral?

Going viral is essentially when Instagram moves your content to the top of your followers and accounts that might like your content discover feed. Going viral can be exciting but let me be clear about this important fact: it doesn't guarantee followers. I see accounts all the time with tons of reel views and a stagnant following count. Not that followers are everything, but you want to attract an audience (follower) that is interested in your content and could one day become a customer. At the end of the day, we need customers to make money to keep running our businesses.

So how do we go viral and hopefully get some more followers along the way?

  1. Start with finding trending music. This will instantly give you a better chance of going viral. Trending music or audio can be music or someone talking. You can find trending audio while scrolling the reel discover page and whenever you see a little arrow by the audio that means it's trending. Save this audio and create an on brand reel using it.

  2. When creating your reel always start with a hook! A hook is 1-3 sentences that really grab your audience's attention. It is at this point that the viewer is either going to stop and pay attention or scroll on through. So make sure it's captivating.

  3. Please the Instagram gods and make sure your video doesn't have any watermarks on it (like the TikTok symbol) and is good quality. I don't know how they know, but they know.

  4. Lastly, to transform viewers into followers always include a CTA (call to action). This can be in the caption or in the video. Just make sure at the end of your reel you are telling your viewer what to do. Provide them with the next step. Commonly this is to get more information in the caption or head to a blog post or freebie available on your website.

Reels aren't going anywhere. If anything social platforms like Instagram are starting to prioritize them over other content. So I guess it's a good idea to buckle down and jump on board.

If you are still too freaked out to create a reel, head over to the Digital Wellness Club! I have created a super basic reels mini-course that will walk you through your first reel. Then I have a "level up" course to take your reels to... well the next level.

Good luck friends.
