15 Days of Story Prompts: For Busy Entreprenuers

Instagram stories are a great way to connect with your current audience. You don’t really get discovered this way or reach a new audience but they hold an important part in monetizing Instagram. So make sure not to ignore your stories!!

To help you out I’ve listed 15 days’ worth of story ideas and content prompts. See if you can do it every day. I bet it’ll make a difference in your overall engagement.

DAY:

  1. Introduce yourself to new followers - even if you haven’t had a ton of new followers hop on your stories and give everyone a quick hello this is me!

  2. Day in the life - Gary V said it best, “don’t create, document” and that’s exactly what I mean here. Take your followers on a day in the life of you doing what you do best!

  3. Mini-training/demo - teach your audience something that has to do with your product, service, or niche.

  4. Share tutorial - Show your audience how to do something related to your product/service or niche. (honestly, day 3 and 4 or interchangeable the key here is adding value, educating, and positioning yourself as the expert)

  5. Promote content - promote some FREE content you have, like a reel, popular ig post, or blog post. 

  6. Re-share - Highlight some content from creators that you love. Don’t forget to tag them and comment; they might just repost your post!

  7. Run a poll or ask a question - Try and do this every time you have a story at least once but on this day, go for it and do a real survey. It’s also good to preface your audience and tell them what you’re going to do and thank them after.

  8. This or that - Classic polls, great for engagement!

  9. Shout out - Give a shout out to someone that inspires you or just someone special

  10. Weekly roundup - just to catch up on all the things you did that week and things your audience needs to check out.

  11. Myths in your industry - time to bust them! A fun idea would be to ask your audience to give you myths they've heard and then break them down!

  12. Promote offer - Since you’ve been serving your audience so well, you can totally promote your offer today! No one will be mad or think it’s spammy.

  13. Testimonial/case study - Buffer that sale with a case study of one of your clients or a testimonial

  14. Tell your story - Bring it back home on day 14 with a deeper dive into your story.

  15. Common mistakes - lastly finish with some common mistakes people in your industry make and how to fix them!
