In 2019, I was in the process of facing the closure of my first business, a cold-pressed juice shop.

That business taught me so much but also sucked the life out of me. I was broke, in debt, totally burnt out, and thinking I had to go back to my old office job to start paying the bills.

But my youngest was barely 1 year old and I just couldn’t give up on the dream of being able to work for myself and raise my girls.

I used to say “If only I could make $2,000 a month, I’d be set!”

Then COVID hit.

The world froze, and no one was hiring. The option of going back to the office was no longer even an option.

So, I took inventory of my skills, what I liked doing in my old business, and what industry I could apply this to.

I landed on Social Media Manager. After 7 years of doing all the social media posting for the juice shop, I knew my way around the gram.

I went on job boards, found local businesses, sent a few DMs and emails, and landed my first client.

$500 a month to post on her social media pages a few times a week, I couldn’t believe it. It couldn’t be this easy.
