HOSPITAL BAG CHECKLIST
You’ve read the books, been to the prenatal classes, and are feeling ready for baby. Something I left to the last minute even though my midwife reminded me on multiple visits was to pack my hospital bag. No matter where you decide to have your baby, at home, a birth centre, or at the hospital, having a little bag of essentials is always a good idea.
Water Bottle - The pregnancy thirst continues and those little cups at the hospital won't cut it.
Electrolytes - Throw in some ener-c packs or emergency are a great! They are also a better option than sugary sports drinks.
Snacks - Pack your favourite snack bar, fruit, or whatever you’ve been craving lately. You could be in labour for a while and will need your energy. Also your partner might need a snack and you might not want them leaving you to go to the kitchen or hospital cafeteria.
Flip Flops or Slippers - Even socks might be a better option than bare feet on the hospital floor.
A robe - You might want something different to wear than the paper robe you get from the hospital.
Change of clothes - After baby is here you’ll want something comfortable to put on!
Phone Charger - Phone calls, texts, pictures videos… your phone is going to get a lot of work. Don’t let a drained battery cause you to miss out on any special moment.
At the end of the day you won’t need much to welcome your new love into the world, but it doesn’t hurt to have a few things.
