057. How To Hit 5K Months: Strategies For Building A Successful Online Business| Digital Wellness Club Podcast

LISTEN ON: APPLE PODCAST | SPOTIFY

When diving into the online business realm, the possibilities seem endless – courses, one-on-one clients, contract work, copywriting, digital marketing, and my starting point, social media management. But here's the golden nugget I learned in that first year: try all the things. Seriously. Dive into courses, read books, listen to podcasts, be a sponge. I started with social media management, but exploring various avenues helped me discover what I truly enjoyed.

As I worked with one-on-one clients, their needs guided me into different realms. They needed website help, so I started building websites. Then came a course on website building in a day – it took off! From there, my journey twisted into email marketing, funnel builds, and landing pages. The beauty is, as you learn, you can offer more. Even within a niche, there are endless possibilities.

Tip number two: stick to one-on-one clients initially. I didn't venture into courses until the end of the year. Contrary to the hype around online courses being passive income, it's not that simple. You need to establish yourself as an authority, and working closely with clients gives you invaluable feedback. It's like a crash course in understanding their pain points, refining your skills, and proving your expertise.

Now, the third gem: continually up your prices. It's a hurdle many of us struggle with, but every time you gain a client, up those rates. Create no-pricing PDFs to hold yourself accountable. It might feel uncomfortable, but charging appropriately is crucial. Ever heard of the resentment price? Charge what won't make you resent the work. Trust me; it's a game-changer.

Initially, I wasn't hitting that 5k a month mark, but here's the reality check – start somewhere realistic. Build your MVP (Minimum Viable Product), get clients through the door, and refine as you go. You don't have to build an entire business before starting; it's okay to tweak along the way.

As you experiment, you'll find yourself gaining experience. Maybe you'll say yes to things you're not entirely sure about but figure it out along the way. You're getting paid to learn and improve, and that experience becomes a valuable asset.

So, if you're toying with the idea of starting your own business or dreaming of hitting those 5k months, my advice is simple – just start. Don't overcomplicate it. All you need is a way to reach your clients, clarity on your offerings and pricing, and a method for them to pay you. Keep exploring, learning, and growing. Before you know it, you'll be turning those dreams into reality, just like I did.

Whether you're a budding entrepreneur or a seasoned business owner, these insights will inspire you to take the next step towards your financial goals.
